「善」と「悪」

ある日の対談番組で、アンパンマンの作者やなせたかしさんがその作品に込めた思いを話しておられました。次のような内容です。

「人間の正義はいとも簡単に逆転する。戦争がそう。憎くもないのに殺さなきゃならない。そんなの正義じゃない。逆転しない正義とは…困った人がいれば手を差し伸べること。飢えた人に一片の食べ物を差し出すこと。敵も味方もない。これだけは時代が変わっても逆転しない私の中の正義です。アンパンマンはそんなところから生まれました。悪をひたすら打ちのめすのではない。バイキンマンはみんなの心に絶えずいる。死なない。いつも。そこが大事」というお話でした。

私たちは見返りを求めず差し出すことが苦手です。なおかつ他人の悪いところはよく目に付き、自分の悪いところは見えないといった有様です。無意識に自分一人が正しい（善）かのように、相手（悪）をコテンパンに叩いたりもします。そんなものは善でも正義でもありません。「バイキンマンはみんなの心に絶えずいる。死なない。そこが大事」とは、私自身の姿がそこにあるということだと思います。

親鸞聖人の著された『一念多念文意』には、「凡夫というは無明煩悩われらが身にみちみちて、欲もおほく、いかり、はらだち、そねみ、ねたむこころおほくひまなくして、臨終の一念にいたるまでとどまらず、きえずたえず」とあるのは、まさに私の姿です。

仏さまの光に照らされて浮かびあがる私の姿に善と言えるものはありません。しかし、そんな私を目当てに変わらず照らし続けてくださるはたらきがあります。自分の良さもわからない私に「あなたのいのちはすばらしい」と照らし、呼びかけ、育んでくださる仏さまのおはたらきです。分け隔てのない仏さまのぬくもりを感じながら歩んでいきたいと思います。

Let's think about good and evil

I was watching Takashi Yanase, the creator of Anpanman on TV and he was talking about what he wanted to convey through his creation.
Anpanman is a series of popular comic and TV animation created by Takashi Yanase. Human justice can easily be flipped. Take wars for an example.
You have to kill the opponent you have no hatred of. There is no justice in that.
The true justice is to extending your hand out to someone in need. To give a starving person, a piece of bread. You make no distinction between enemies and allies.
This is justice as I understand it. Anpanman was born out of that belief.We have grown up watching the standoff between good and evil. But is there a true stand off of good and evil in the real world?
Baikinman, the enemy of Anpanman exists in all of our heart.I think we are not good at extending good will without expecting something in return.We notice the negatives in the others, but do not see our own.
Let's think about good and evil.We unconsciously believe we alone are right (good) and berate the other (bad).When we are being self righteous, there is no good nor justice. All of us have some negative in our hearts.
The true opposite of justice is not evil, but "the other justice".
Shinran Shonin said in his Ichinen Tanen Moni（Notes on Once-Calling and Many-Calling）
We humans with many worries have constantly have greed, anger, bad temper, jealousy and envy in our hearts.
They do not cease till the moment we die.
When Buddha's light is on us, what is illuminated is not our goodness.Buddha understands and continue to shine light on us regardless of who we are.
Let us live our lives feeling Buddha's warm heart.
