平等心を うるときを　一子地(いっしじ)と なづけたり
一子地は 仏性(ぶっしょう)なり　安養(あんにょう)にいたりて さとるべし
（親鸞聖人 浄土和讃）

私達一人ひとりには必ずお父さんとお母さんがいるのです。母親がお腹を痛めて生んでくれたのです。両親のおかげで今、自分がこの世に生まれ生きていると言えるのです。
親の役割としては、時に厳しい言葉や行動で子供をしつけていくことであり、やさしさやぬくもりで子供を包みこむような慈愛の心を感じさせるものです。しかしそれは現代において、父親が母親のような、逆に母親が父親の役割を担うこと、また、他の人がその役割をはたすこともあるでしょう。
一般的に、兄弟の中に体調の悪い子や、病気を抱えている子がいたりする場合、親は否応なしに、その子を中心に手をかけるでしょう。手のかからない子へは後回しになってしまう。差別しているつもりはないけれど、自分の子供をみんな平等に接するということはできないのが「この世の子育て」と言えるのではないでしょうか。
親として子のことを心配だと思うのは、いくつになっても変わらないのでしょう。親はいつまでたっても子供を心配する親であり、親を安心させることもできずに、それどころか、心配ばかりかけ続けている私の恥ずかしさ、愚かさが明らかになってくるのです。
親鸞聖人が敬われた七高僧の第6祖、源信(げんしん)和尚(かしょう)の言葉の中に、阿弥陀如来さまを「極(ごく)大慈悲(だいじひ)の母」と示されています。「きわめて大いなる慈悲のはたらきをお持ちのお母さんのようだ」というのです。
如来さまは「あなたを仏さまの子どもとして育てます」と宣言して下さっているのです。そんな私たち一人ひとりを平等に「一子地」、まるで独り子のように、一人ひとりかけがえのない尊い存在であると呼びかけておられているのです。
いのちの重さは同じ。年齢に差をつけず、病気や健康状態に関わるものでもなく、何物にも妨げられることのない仏さまから認められた大切ないのちであると意味づけられているのです。
人生には何が起こるかわかりません、どんなことが起きたとしても、思いの通りにならないこの世を生きていく私のいのちを親のごとく支えて下さっているのです。

Amida Buddha has compassion for all of us without prejudice

Each of us have father and mother.
Our mothers endured physical pain to give birth to us.
We are here today thanks to our parents who gave us birth and raised.
Parents raise their children wrapping them in love, but sometimes they give harsh words and deeds to teach them lessons.
These days, sometimes fathers do the mothering or mothers play the role of the father. Also, sometimes someone other than the parents play those roles.
When one of the children are sickly, the parents would take care of that child without hesitation.
The children who are low maintenance tend to be left alone. It is difficult to treat all children equally.
From parents' point of view, children will always be cause of concern.
Genshin Sozu(942-1017), whom Shinran Shonin admired, said, Amida Buddha is like a mother who looks upon all of her children with love and compassion equally.
What Amida Buddha sees with the eyes of love and compassion are us, who can only live self centredly.
Amida Buddha is telling us "I will save you no matter what" and is working as Namo Amida Butsu.
