ご命日は誕生日

私たち一人ひとりには、必ず誕生日があります。人の一生を考えてみますと、この世に生を受け、母親から生まれてきました。赤ちゃんから幼少期をへて、学生として成長し、やがて成人を迎えていきます。人間として成長することを喜ぶ時期もあるのですが、だんだんと衰えを実感するようになっていくのも現実なのです。　
年を重ねていくことが嬉しい時もあれば、悲しいこと苦しいことを感じていかねばならない時もあるのです。そして、親しい方や、身近な方が亡くなることが多くなると「ああ、もしかすると、次は自分の番が近づいてきているのかな」と心細く感じることもあるでしょう。
生きている以上は必ず死していかねばなりません。残念ながらこの事実から逃れるすべを持ち合わせてはいないのです。
私たちは、先だった方々のいのちから、阿弥陀如来様の誓われた「迷いの世界を離れさせ、必ず成仏させる」という願いの中に生かされることの大切さを学ぶ必要があるのではないでしょうか。亡き人をご縁として、お参りすることのなかった私が、仏さまを敬い、手を合わせお念仏申す人生へと変えられるのです。「死んだらおしまい、終わりだ」という、むなしい人生で終えるのではありません。
南無阿弥陀仏を仰ぎ、お浄土へ生まれ、仏さまに成ることの決まった人生、行き先の定まる安心した人生を歩ませていただけます。
人生には２度の誕生日があると言われます。この世に生まれてきた誕生日と、お浄土へ生まれて往く誕生日です。悲しい命日が、うれしい喜ばしい日へと変わっていきます。
母親からこの世に生まれてきたのと同じように、親の姿は見えないけれど「大きな阿弥陀如来様のお腹の中で育まれている大切なこの私のいのち」と味わえるのではないでしょうか。
ご命日には、バースデーケーキを用意し、ご家族お揃いでのお参りなどいかがでしょうか。

Anniversary of death is a second birthday

Each of us have a birthday.We are born from our mothers, go through our childhood, get educated and become adults.
To grow is a good thing.However, once we reach the middle age, we begin to notice physical decline and begin to wish not to age.
Every being who are born into this world will die without exception. Although we are aware of this, when people close to us die, we get shocked.Buddhism teaches us when our lives end in this world, Amida Buddha takes us o be reborn into the Pure Land to become Buddha.
There are two birthdays in life. The first is the day we are born in this world and the second is the day we leave for the Pure Land to become Buddha.
If you think of it this way, the sad day of the loved one's anniversary of death becomes the day to celebrate.
When we die, it is not the end. It is the beginning of the eternal life.To die means to receive immeasurable life.Let us accept the anniversary of death as the second birthday.
