トルコ・シリア大地震

令和5年2月6日にトルコ南部で発生したマグニチュード7.8の地震やその後の大きな揺れで、トルコとシリアでこれまでに亡くなった人はトルコで3万5418人、シリア側では少なくとも5814人と、両国で合わせて4万1000人を超えています。（NHKニュースウェブ2月15日現在）

阪神淡路大震災の約１５倍ともいわれる大きなエネルギーによって、数多くの家屋が崩れ落ち、がれきの山となりました。無念にもたくさんの尊いいのちが奪われてしまいました。犠牲になられた方々に哀悼の意を表し謹んでお念仏を申し上げます。

怪我をされ何もかも失い、寒空の下で生活しておられる被災された方々には、早期のご回復を念じお見舞いを申し上げます。

数百万人ともいわれる被災された人々。深い悲しみ苦しみの中、略奪や強盗など治安の悪化が心配されます。他人事ではありません。状況の変化によって、何をしでかすか分からない恐ろしい心を抱えているのが私たち人間なのです。

仏さまの光は心の闇を照らし、自己を中心として物事にとらわれている愚かさを知らせ、暴走する心を制御して下さるのです。

大事なことに気づかせて下さる感謝の想いで、私たち一人ひとりに何ができるのか考え行動し、春のお彼岸をお迎えいたしましょう。

Turkey/Syria Earthquake

The Magnitude 7.8 earthquake that shook Southern Turkey on the 6th February 2023 killed 35,418 people in Turkey and 5814 in Syria. Over 41,000 dead.

Caused by energy 15 times greater than that of Hanshin Awaji Earthquake, countless houses crumbled leaving mountains of rubbles.
Unfortunately, many precious lives were lost.
We pay our respect and offer our nembutsu.
For those who have lost everything and living in the freezing conditions, we wish you quick recovery.
With several million people affected, who are in deep despair, there is a fear the public safety is at risk such as robbery.
We can not sit back and think it doesn't apply to us.
Depending on how circumstances change, we humans have weakness in our hearts that makes our behavior unpredictable.
Light of Amida Buddha illuminate the darkness in our hearts, makes us see how self centred and obsessed on trivia we are, and help us restrain ourselves.
Let us be grateful for how we are helped to realise what is really important, and think what each of us can do as we await for Spring Equinox.
